Lamba Privacy Policy

Lamba is a local discovery app for Jordan that helps people find products and services in nearby stores, and helps stores show what they offer. Lamba is operated by Ali Sharhabeel Abdallah Al-Najdawi, an individual developer based in Jordan ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account: your name, your email address or phone number, and your password (stored only in a one-way hashed form).
• Location: your device location while you use the app, to show nearby stores and products. If you ask to be notified when a product becomes available, we save the location with that request.
• Searches: the text of your searches and your search history. You can clear your search history at any time in the app.
• Messages: your conversations with stores in the app.
• Ratings and reports: store ratings and reviews you leave, and listings you report.
• Notifications: a device token used to send you notifications.
• Technical data: your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the time and which part of the service you used. We use them to keep Lamba secure and prevent abuse, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts. They are recorded in our server logs, and old log entries are deleted automatically as new ones are written.
• For stores (merchants): store name, address, location, opening hours, contact details, staff names you add, product listings and prices, and product photos you take or upload. Store details and product photos are public in the app.

2. How we use your information

• To show products and services near you.
• To run search, including understanding search text with AI models.
• To let customers and stores message each other.
• To send notifications you asked for, such as product availability.
• To keep Lamba safe: reviewing reported listings, blocking prohibited products, and securing accounts with verification codes.

We do not sell your personal data, and Lamba does not show ads.

3. Who processes your data

We use service providers that process data on our behalf:

• Hetzner: our servers and database, located in Germany.
• Cloudflare: storing and delivering images, and routing email.
• DeepInfra: AI models that process search text and product names. We do not send them your name, email address or phone number.
• Resend: sending verification emails.
• Expo: delivering push notifications.
• Google Maps: showing maps in the app. Google's own privacy policy applies to its maps service.

When you message a store, the store sees your messages and the name on your account. We may disclose information when the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account. Deleted data is removed from our live systems immediately and from our backups within 7 days. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.

5. Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, clear your search history, and turn off location access or notifications in your device settings (nearby results need location).

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Delete account), or as described at https://api.lambajo.com/account-deletion. For any request about your data, contact us.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored hashed, and access to our servers is restricted.

7. Children

Lamba is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when this policy changes, and let you know in the app about significant changes.
